Questions?
We’ve got answers brought to you by Software’s skincare experts.
Can I use the Multi-Peptide Eye Serum with my custom formula?
Yes! This product was designed to enhance the results seen from your clinical strength formula. We recommend waiting 6-8 weeks after starting your treatment before incorporating the Multi-Peptide Eye Serum into your routine, to allow your skin time to adjust to the ingredients.
Where does the Multi-Peptide Eye Serum fit into my skincare routine?
After cleansing, gently squeeze a small amount onto the applicator and apply under the eye and around the orbital bone. Do not apply directly to the eye.
Bonus: Store in the fridge for an additional cooling effect.
What are peptides and why are they good for the skin?
Peptides are amino acids that are the building blocks of certain proteins needed by the skin, like collagen and elastin.[1] Using a cream like Software’s Multi-Peptide Eye Serum that contains multiple peptides can lead to firmer and younger-looking skin.
Why do I get fine lines and wrinkles?
As you get older, your skin loses the ability to renew itself, and natural proteins in your body such as collagen and elastin become depleted over time.[2]
On top of that, the skin underneath your eye is a lot thinner, meaning it's more susceptible to the ageing process, which in turn, causes under-eye wrinkles.
Why do I need a different product for my under-eye?
Undereye skin is different from the rest of your skin on your face. It’s thin and delicate, which means you need specific products to treat it correctly (and why we advise patients to never apply their medical treatment directly under the eye!).
What’s the difference between puffiness and dark circles?
Dark circles can be caused by a variety of things like ageing, fatigue, and genetics. As you age and collagen production slows down, your skin begins to loosen and thin out. This makes the blood vessels beneath your skin become more prominent, which can darken the area under the eyes.
As you age, the tissues around your eyes weaken, including some of the muscles that support your eyelids. Fat that supports the eyes can then move to the lower eyelid, resulting in a puffy appearance.
Note: Eye bags and dark circles are not the same thing. Think puffy = eye bag, think thin = dark circle.
What are the different types of under-eye wrinkles?
Under-eye wrinkles are a normal part of the ageing process. But, did you know there are different types?
Dynamic wrinkles
Dynamic wrinkles occur after repeated muscle contractions underneath the skin such as squinting and smiling. [3] As the ageing process continues, the skin loses the ability to bounce back. Crow's feet are a form of dynamic wrinkles on the outer corners of the eyes.
Static wrinkles
Static wrinkles are the form of wrinkles that occur as a result of skin damage. They are visible even when facial muscles are resting and some of the most common reasons for developing static wrinkles come from smoking, sun exposure, and poor nutrition.
Dynamic wrinkles can also develop into static wrinkles.
Wrinkle folds
Wrinkle folds are the sagging of facial structures that are age-related and typically occur in the grooves of the nose, mouth, and under the eyes.
